Near Utrecht Central train station is a characteristic ensemble of old workers' houses. Project developer Geelen Projects renovated the houses and gave them a new layout. CDC advised on building physical aspects.

The complex is a monument. Facade views had to remain intact. That is why very small, inconspicuous ventilation grilles are used. The sloping roof is provided with a thin layer of insulation on the outside. Sound insulation has improved between houses. False walls have been placed against partitioning walls.
